Southern Living Idea House 2023
I was elated when Laura reached out to me to chat about creating new art for this project! My artwork is included in the Billiards Room and Party Barn.
Opening August 3, 2023 for tours and appearing in the September issue, inspiration for our 2023 Southern Living Idea House was drawn from both the bucolic landscape of the Tennessee countryside and the vibrant city of Nashville. From the color palette and textures to the furnishings, custom cabinetry and original artwork, this house was designed for living, entertaining and relaxing. With sustainability and wellness in mind, we’re sharing ideas for creating a home that truly reflects your design style with everything from DIY design solutions and unique vintage finds to custom furniture and hand-painted murals. Every room was designed to have moments of inspiration and discovery that we hope readers and visitors will consider for their own home. The design of the Southern Living Idea House celebrates its beautiful natural surroundings with biophilic inspiration, the sights and sounds of Music City with a lively music and billiards lounge and a myriad of artistic references that reflect the local cultural landscape. This home is full of natural light, thoughtful architectural details, creative design solutions, handmade and custom designed furnishings, and lots of inspiration for indoor-outdoor living. — Laura Hodge
